Let's meet the backpacker you keep reading about.

My name is Alice Hautvast, and I'm originally from the Netherlands. I've adopted my nomadic attitude from my parents, who loved to move around, and this way I spent most of my life growing up across Asia. 

I have a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature and Theatre Studies from the University of Leeds, where I formed wonderful friendships and dove deeper into my love for reading and performing.

While on a working holiday in Australia, I discovered fire spinning, and it quickly became a passion for me. It is performance, meditation, adrenaline infused thrill and art all in one. Alongside travelling, it is the thing I want to do.

I'm still trying to figure out who I am, what I want to do, who I want to be, and so for now this is me... travelling as much as I can, exploring different cultures, bathing in the beauty of Mother Nature, wielding my fire staff, wandering the Earth with nothing but a backpack and a budget, and sharing my adventures with the world through my writing.
